Balog Bests Schuerenberg

After a thrilling race at the Plymouth Dirt Track, 25 Bumper to Bumper IRA outlaw sprint teams headed south to the Wilmot Raceway for a Sunday night of action.
Qualifying saw the Georgia native, Sean Rayhall set quick time for the 2nd night in a row. Hunter Schuerenberg behind the wheel of the Vermeer 55 timed in 2nd quick, followed by Bill Balog, Dave Uttech and Corbin Gurley.
Heat race number one treated the fans to a show, and Scotty Neitzel and Scott Biertzer traded the lead multiple times around the 3/8th mile oval. When Todd Booker's checkered flag fell it was the 2 time IRA champion, Scotty Neitzel victorious. Biertzer crossed in 2nd followed by a hard charging Kris Spitz, Sean Rayhall and Dave Uttech.
In heat race two Missouri driver Hunter Schuerenberg drove from 4th to the lead in the first half a lap. Schuerenberg never looked back and led all 10 laps en route to the heat race victory. Former IRA champion Jake Blackhurst finished in second followed by Blake Nimee, Todd Daun and Corbin Gurley.
The final heat race was claimed by Jordan Goldesberry, over Bill Balog and Joey Moughan. 2020 rookie of the year contender Jack Routson brought his machine home in 4th followed by Russel Borland in 5th.
For the second night in a row Bill Balog won dash number 1 and would start on the pole of the A main. Behind him would line up Jordan Goldesberry, Jeremy Schultz, Dave Uttech and Jake Blackhurst.
Dash number two was claimed by Joey Moughan, giving him a front row A main starting spot. Behind him would start Hunter Schuerenberg, Scotty Neitzel, Corbin Gurley and Sean Rayhall
Bill Balog jumped out to the early lead over Joey Moughan and Hunter Schuerenberg. As Balog reached lapped traffic the duo behind him kept close enough to capitalize in lapped traffic but before an opportunity to pounce arose the caution would fly with 10 laps to go. On the restart Balog would lead Schuerenberg on the cushion while Schuerenberg hit the bottom and began a slide job for the lead. Balog bobbled on the cushion and that allowed Schuerenberg to complete the slide job and take the lead. Balog crossed under and took the lead back down the backstretch, as the pair entered turn 3, it was the same story, slide job from Schuerenberg, cross over from Balog. After 2 or more laps of continued slide jobs and crossovers, Balog was finally able to secure the lead and claim his 4th victory of the season. Hunter Schuerenberg brought his 55 home in 2nd followed by Joey Moughan. Blake Nimee and Jake Blackhurst rounded out the top 5.
