BUMPER TO BUMPER IRA OUTLAW SPRINTS PREPARE FOR SHOWDOWN AT WILMOT WITH TONY STEWART’S ARCTIC CAT ALL STAR CIRCUIT OF CHAMPIONS!

ALL STAR SHOWDOWN AT WILMOT AND SUN PRAIRIE OPENER ON TAP THIS WEEKEND IN BUMPER TO BUMPER IRA SPRINT 50TH ANNIVERSARY SEASON ACTION!

May 16, 2016; Appleton, WI – A busy weekend lies ahead for the Bumper to Bumper IRA Sprint Series teams as back to back race nights will provide plenty of challenges to those participating this year in the running of the 50th Anniversary season for the series.

Fans will witness two days of some of the best open wheel racing anywhere, and its' taking place right here in Wisconsin. On Saturday night May 21st the stars of the Bumper to Bumper IRA Outlaw Sprints will be challenged by Tony Stewart's Arctic Cat All Star Curcuit Of Champions.

Wilmot Raceway, the birthplace of the IRA Sprints will be the battleground as both series will be competing for bragging rights and a share of over $25,000 in the A-main alone!

Then on Sunday May 22nd the series will pack up and travel to Sun Prairie, Wisconsin where IRA teams will face off at the legendary Angell Park Speedway in the first of six appearances during the 2016 season.

The Saturday show at Wilmot will have the feeling of a David vs. Goliath showdown. At the heart of the Bumper to Bumper IRA Sprints are a group of dedicated blue collar race teams. Teams where the crew works all week to go play on the weekend and the drivers punch a clock every day to be able to afford putting on the helmet to race.

Meanwhile Tony Stewart's Arctic Cat All Star Curcuit Of Champions consists of a good number of teams who race for a living. With Tony Stewart taking over the series, it has blossomed. The talent and interest in the series has continued on an upward trend. Drivers like Dale Blaney, Chad Kemenah, Sheldon Haudenschild, Cap Henry, Danny Holtgraver and Kraig Kinser are some of the more familiar names of the fourteen touring All Stars. All are expected to challenge for the victory at Wilmot where Blaney has had a knack of finding a way to win when both series meet.

From the IRA side of the of the challenge things are a bit more complicated. Jeremy Schultz, who finds himself atop the IRA standings for the first time since he briefly lead the points in his rookie season. Schultz is fresh off a second place finish in the most recent IRA event at Beaver Dam Raceway and as a two-time Wilmot Raceway track champion he is expected to do well with his wide open driving style.

Recent IRA winner at Manitowoc Speedway, Brandon Wimmer will be on hand as will two-time series champion Scotty Neitzel, Scotty Thiel, Wilmot standout Todd Daun, and a host of IRA & Wilmot faithful hoping to grab the biggest win of their career.

Blake Nimee also seems to step up in a big way during the high dollar showdowns and was often leading the charge last season with the two series ran head to head.

Series regulars Phillip Mock, Ben Schmidt, Robbie Pribnow, Scott Biertzer, Bill Wirth, Matt Vandervere, Kyle Marten, Wayne Modjeski, Russel Borland, Kris and Dennis Spitz, Scott and Dave Uttech along with Josh Walter, Jereme Schroeder, Michael Decker, and Jordan Goldsberry are drivers who will be representing the home team.

Joining the winged warriors are the Meyer Services WingLessSprints presented by the IRA and the Wisconsin-Illinois Mini-Sprints.

Grandstands open at 5:00 p.m. with racing scheduled for 6:45pm. Admission is $25.00 for adults, $5 for youth ages 7-11 with children ages 6 and under admitted free.

The track is located on the Kenosha County Fairgrounds in Wilmot, Wis. For the latest updates check the official track web site www.wilmotraceway.com, phone the trackside raceline 262-862-2090

or check the track’s Facebook page.

Then on Sunday May 22nd the appearance of the Bumper to Bumper IRA Outlaw Sprints will serve as Angell Park Speedway’s season opener.

In addition Badger Midgets, and Badger Micros will be on hand for a full program. The event will mark the start of the 80th Anniversary season for the Badger Midgets.

One of six events at the track featuring the Bumper-to-Bumper IRA Sprint cars this season, the historic 1/3rd mile puts on an action-packed sprint car show and it has become a fan favorite on the IRA schedule.

In 2015, fans saw Parker Price-Miller, Jeremy Schultz, Scotty Neitzel, and Bill Balog take victories with the IRA. Some travelers are expected to make the trip over after Wilmot and some other IRA stars are expected to join the fray Sunday as well.

Spectator Gates will open at 4:30pm with hot laps at 6:00pm. Racing action is set to get underway after hot laps. Adult admission is $20.00, Students ages12 to 18 are admitted for $ 15.00 and children ages 12 and under are FREE with an adult.
