Over this past weekend, the Bumper to Bumper IRA Sprint Cars and the Buffalo Wild Wings NOSA Sprint Car Series checked into RIver Cities Speedway for the Buffalo Wild Wings King of the Wings.

On Friday, 36 winged warriors checked into River Cities Speedway. We dropped the green on the field, but problems arose early for the 25 of Danny Schlafer. We restarted the field once more, where Dobmeier jumped to the early lead. Hastings and Schneiderman would be forced to play catch up.

At the Midwest’s baddest bullring, lap traffic became an immediate variable to think about. The Buffalo Wild Wings 13 maneuvered through the back to the field to continue to extend his lead. We would draw out our second caution for Hastings running in second. He would go to the work area and return to racing.

When we dropped the green once more, it would be Dobmeier, Schneiderman, Mullen, Pierce, and Austin Hartmann running in the top five. The battle to watch would be between the 11M of Mullen and the 2A of Austin Pierce for third. Pierce would pass the 11M for third and begin to reel in the Four-Nine Motorsports driver.

We’d drop the caution for the PMM 71M who had spun on the front stretch. Dobmeier would continue to lead the way once more, Pierce to second, Schneiderman to third. Schneiderman would have company in the form of the CMS Racing 1 of Brenham Crouch who had made his way up front from the 5th row.

Six laps remained for the Hometown Hero of Mark Dobmeier as the 14T of Estenson would become one of the victims of the cushion.

It would be a 5-lap shoot out for the win of night one at River Cities. Dobmeier would lead to the green followed closely by the 2A, 1, 49, 46JR, and 11M. We’d count down the handful of laps and Dobmeier would take the checkered. Pierce would finish second, and Crouch to round out the podium.

On Saturday, we had 36 cars return for the final night of our westward swing. In the feature, Croaker would lead lap one but the CMS Racing 1 of Crouch would be in pursuit of his first IRA Feature win. That battle would brew for 10 laps until crouch would make the successful slider in turn 3 to take the lead with 20 laps remaining. Croaker would slide back to second as Pierce and Mullen would be wing to wing for third. Just as Pierce would pass the 11M, we’d throw the caution for the G5. He’d make a quick visit to the work area, and then return to racing. The 46JR of Myers Jr and the 23 of Russel Borland would be contenders for the Hard Charger Award as they both had passed 6 cars.
Crouch would get a good jump on the 8 ball as he dove into turn one to continue his quest for his first IRA Series win. On the restart, the 2A would pass the 8 ball for second and begin to hunt down the Lubbock, TX native.

Halfway home signal was thrown on the flagstand as Crouch was accompanied by the 2A of Austin Pierce. Although Crouch was racing for his first IRA Sprints win, Pierce was racing to join the NOSA Elite of 50+ wins. There was a lot on the line for these two drivers as they began to dance for the lead as the caution would wave once more for the 87A of Austin Hartmann with a flat right rear.

Crouch would continue to lead the way as fans counted the laps down to ten to go with Pierce in striking distance. They would circle around River Cities Speedway once more and would exchange the lead at the line. Pierce would dive into turn one as the yellow would wave for the 14T.

It would be a green-white-checkered finish for the field, with Pierce and Crouch with titles on the line. The tension was high as the green would drop, Pierce would not hesitate to jump to the cushion and take the white flag and then out of turn 4, would take his 50th career checkered. Crouch would come home second, and the 11M of Brendan Mullen would round out the podium.

Throughout the weekend between the three races, Buffalo Wild Wings hosted a points fund for the title of the King of the Wings. Sitting at the top of the points standings would be the 13 of Mark Dobmeier who would be crowned this year’s King of the Wings. Brendan Mullen would finish second in the points, Austin Pierce third, Brenham Crouch fourth, and Joel Myers Jr fifth.

The entire staff and drivers from the Bumper to Bumper IRA Sprint Car Series cannot thank Todd and Susan from Buffalo Wild Wings for hosting such an outstanding event and your hospitality throughout the weekend.

The Bumper to Bumper IRA Sprint Cars will kick off fair season this upcoming Friday at the Outagamie Speedway for the Outagamie County Fair. If you can't be there, watch live on FloRacing.
