Wilson and Miller Dominate Fair Weekend

The Weekend kicked off Fair Season with the Bumper to Bumper IRA Sprint Car Series at the Kenosha County Fairgrounds for the final running of the 410 Sprints at the Wilmot Raceway for the year.

27 Sprint Cars checked into the Wilmot Raceway, but Kyle Schuett was fastest in hot laps and Joe B. Miller was fastest in Qualifying. Heat races were won by Jordan Goldesberry, Zackary Sokol, and Blake Nimee. The B-Main was won by Jake Neuman.

A highlightable dash was won in thrilling fashion by Blake Nimee and Jake Blackhurst to set up the front row of the feature. Blackhurst would take the early lead against the rest of the field as Schlafer would slide into third to battle with Miller. The action continued behind Nine-Six Motorsports driver Jake Blackhurst as we would tick away 7 laps.

The battle for second would heat up as the sliders between the 25 of Schlafer and 51B of Miller were getting close. Nimee in the 79 would throw a two-for-one and steal second from both competitors and begin to hunt down the 96.

With 16 laps remaining, we would throw a cation for the 70 of Klemko. Fans would begin to notice that the w20 of Greg Wilson would have raced his way from 14th to 6th. The two time All Star Circuit of Champions Champion was in pursuit for the lead when the green dropped.

Blackhurst would lead the field to the green. Blackhurst would take the field to halfway home as Wilson would grab positions up to third. With 13 remaining, the w20 would pass the 51B for second and begin to reel in Blackhurst.

With 8 laps remaining, Wilson would challenge Blackhurst for the lead. Both dancing around lap traffic, Wilson would throw the slider to take the lead to the checkered at the Kenosha County Fairgrounds. Blackhurst second, and Joe B. Miller would round out the podium. Greg Wilson would also walk away with some extra K-Bucks from Andrew Kunas for the hard charger award.

The fair action continued with another 27 cars checked into the Angell Park Speedway for Corn Fest. Going fastest in Hot Laps would be the 73 of Scotty Thiel, and QuickTime overall was the 65 of Jordan Goldesberry. Heat races were won by Greg Wilson, Danny Schlafer, and Mike Reinke.

The B-Main was won by Jake Blackhurst and the Dashes were won by Blake Nimee and Jake Neuman.

Neuman would take control of the Speedway as we lead the field to green. Neuman would effortlessly lead the field around the track adorned by fair lights and begin to hit lap traffic with 5 laps remaining. We would throw the caution on the speedway with 8 laps complete for Chase McDermand stopped on the backstretch. This caused a frenzy of drivers parked in the infield for adjustments. All except the 8 would continue the feature.

Neuman would continue to lead the way around Angell Park followed by Nimee, Wilson, Schuett, and Miller rounding out the top 5. Miller on the restart would grab fourth from the 9k and work on gaining ground on the rest of the field. Another yellow would fly for the 79M of Guilford.

Wilson would battle Nimee for third as they crossed the flag stand with 11 laps remaining with Jake Neuman still leading the way. The action would be stopped for a red flag for the 14AJ. He was able to walk away from the scene, and we’d head into an open red.

11 laps remained for Neuman with Nimee, Wilson, Miller, and Goldesberry rounding out the top 5. We’d return to racing out of turn four and into the first turn Wilson would steal second from Nimee as well as Miller. The action would continue until the 79 would lose power on the backstretch with 6 laps remaining. He would retire the 79 for the night.

With 6 laps remaining, we’d return to green Miller would grab second on the restart and catch up to the tail tank of Neuman. Miller would take the lead from Neuman with 5 laps remaining and lead until the checkered. Neuman would take second and Wilson would round out the podium.

The IRA Sprint Car Series will take this weekend off, but will return to action for the conclusion of Fair Season and another round of the Hope Farms Bullring Showdown at the Plymouth Dirt Track.

Watch the action live on FloRacing.
